MyNetWorth for Windows Gets Context Menu Shortcuts

Despite my contention that MyNetWorth for Windows would not be getting the context menus that are a feature of MyNetWorth, because “adding a context menu to a wpf datagrid in XAML/C# is far more tortuous that adding one to a tableview in SwiftUI)”, I have added context menus to the transaction datagrids in the Accounts, Payees and Schedule Views in MyNetWorth for Windows version 3.6.99, which was published on 26/06/2026.

As an alternative to using the Transaction Editing Buttons, MyNetWorth for Windows users can now right click on any single transaction (or on any set of multiple transactions) in the Accounts View to reveal a context menu that contains the same options as those available through the Transaction Editing Buttons, except for the Add option, which is omitted, and the Edit option, which is replaced by an Edit/Redate option to cater for the selection of single and/or multiple transactions. Both the Duplicate and Schedule options are always displayed in the context menu; there is no need to press the Shift + S toggle key to reveal the Schedule option. However, the Enter/Redate option calls the Redate (rather than the Edit) function and the Duplicate, Schedule, Delete, Switch Amount To/From and Move options are all disabled, whenever multiple transactions are selected.

Since the selection of multiple transactions is not supported in the Payees and Schedule Views, the context menus in these views contain the same options as those available through the Transaction Editing Buttons, except for the Add option, which is omitted. In the Payees View, both the Duplicate and Schedule options are always displayed in the context menu and there is no need to press the Shift + S toggle key to reveal the Schedule option.

The aim of implementing these context menus is to provide a useful shortcut alternative to having to select a transaction in a datagrid and then having to click on one of the Transaction Editing Buttons. In the Accounts and Payees Views scheduling an existing transaction is made particularly quick and easy through the availability of the new context menu. When selecting multiple selections in the Accounts View, the context menu saves having to move the mouse pointer away from the datagrid.
