New Versions of MyNetWorth (3.5), iNetWorth (3.4) and MyNetWorth for Windows (3.3.96) Published

New versions of MyNetWorth, iNetWorth and MyNetWorth for Windows have been published on the Mac App Store, the App Store and the Microsoft Store. The main new feature is the capability to generate Scheduled Transactions from normal transactions in the Accounts and Payees Views, which could save you both time and effort.

• If you have an existing MyNetWorth transaction that you wish to add to your list of Scheduled Transations, select the transaction in the Accounts or Payees View, change the Duplicate Button to a Schedule Button by pressing and holding the Alt key (on a Mac) or toggle it by pressing and releasing Shift+ S (on a PC), click on the Schedule Button. The Edit Scheduled Transaction Dialogue Box will open, pre-populated with the contents of the transaction that you selected in the Accounts or Payees View; enter the desired Period and Repeats values and click on Save.
• If you have an existing iNetWorth transaction that you wish to add to your list of Scheduled Transations, tap and hold the transaction in the Accounts or Payees View and select Schedule from the dropdown Context Menu. The Edit Scheduled Transaction Dialogue Box will open, pre-populated with the contents of the transaction that you selected in the Accounts or Payees View; enter the desired Period and Repeats values and tap on Save.
• If you cannot see the Account Transaction that you have copied as a Scheduled Transaction when you look for it in the Schedule View, please check that the Schedule View is not filtered by account.

The main bug fix is to ensure that, when processed automatically or manually, Scheduled Transfer Transactions generate “sibling” transactions, which go through the Transfer Account to support the separate reconciliation of their To and From transactions.

Talking of Transfer Transactions, the original source/destination account names associated with “sibling” transfer transactions have been added to the Transfer Account label in the Other Account column in the Accounts Detail View (and to the Transfer Account labels in the From and To Account columns in the Payees Detail View). Also, the original source/destination account names associated with “sibling” transfer transactions have also been added to the Transfer Account labels in the Edit Account Transaction (and Edit Payee Transaction) Dialogue Boxes. I hope that these changes will make MyNetWorth, iNetWorth and MyNetWorth for Windows easier for you to use. Remember that you can often save quite a bit of time and effort by utilising the Duplicate and Schedule functions in the Accounts and Payees Views. Instead of always filling all the details of a new transaction from scratch, try searching for a similar existing transaction from the same Payee (look for it in the Payees View) or in the same Other Account and duplicate it, editing just the values/fields that have changed. You can also Duplicate transactions in the Schedule View and you can now generate new Scheduled Transactions from existing normal (and split) transactions in both the Accounts and Payees Views.
