Impact of macOS 15 and iOS 18 on My Apps

I have upgraded my Mac Mini M1 to macOS 15 (Sequoia) and my iPhone and iPad to iOS 18. The upgrade to macOS 15 (Sequoia) appears not to have had an impact on MyNetWorth beyond very occasionally preventing it opening a Transaction File with the alert: “Unable to access selected Transactions File (Sandbox)”. There is no reason for this in the code and it cannot be cleared by changing the code and recompiling; MyNetWorth appears to simply get stuck. Logging out and back in again on my Mac Mini M1 always clears the issue. However, macOS 15 (Sequoia) has stopped the Mac Catalyst version of iNetWorth from functioning correctly and rebuilding it with Xcode 16 cures some problems but causes others. So, I have decided not to publish Mac Catalyst versions of my iOS apps any longer. Unfortunately, I cannot remove Mac Catalyst versions from the Mac App Store; however, I have stopped listing them on my Apps page. If you do run the Mac Catalyst version of iNetWorth and upgrade to macOS 15 (Sequoia), I suggest you buy the NetWorth Bundle and get MyNetWorth at a bargain price.

The impact on iOS 18 has been more profound. The iPadOS user interface (UI) for TabView based apps, such as iNetWorth, has changed significantly with the Tab Bar moving to the top of the screen (to a similar location to its position in MyNetWorth). Version 2.11.1 of iNetWorth still runs OK under iOS 18. However, I have rebuilt iNetWorth (and iNetWorthPreview) to benefit from these UI changes and also to refresh / tidy up its code; I published Version 2.12 of iNetWorth (and iNetWorthPreview) on the App Store on 27 September. I also changed iNetWorth’s (and iNetWorthPreview’s) mechanism for managing Payees, making it a little simpler. I updated the User Guides for iNetWorth and iNetWorthPreview to cover Version 2.12 on 30 September.
